Before we touch your resume — tell me about a week at work when you felt genuinely useful.

You

Probably when the platform migration was falling apart and I ended up running comms between three teams.

Penny

That isn't "comms". That's holding a cross-functional program together under pressure. Let's find three more like it.

Why it's hard

A search with no structure is the real risk.

The gap does its own damage. Every quiet week makes it harder to describe yourself with any confidence — exactly when you most need to.

Nobody tells you why. Applications go quiet. No feedback, no pattern, nothing you can correct on the next one.

It runs on your motivation alone. Months of it, with no colleagues, no manager and no structure to hold on to.

How it works

Three steps, in the order they actually help.

01

Step one

Map your strengths

A structured conversation that gets past your job title to the things you do well — with evidence you can point at.

02

Step two

Get your skills summary

Your skill set written up as bullet points, each carrying a real example — the raw material for resume lines and answers that hold up when someone pushes back.

03

Step three

Work the search

A shortlist of roles worth your time, and preparation before the conversations that count — as often as you need it.

Straight answers

What people ask before they start.

How long does a search usually take?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median at about eleven weeks, but the average is closer to six months because long searches drag it out. Long enough either way that running it without structure is the real risk, which is why the summary matters: it is the structure you bring back every time.

I've been out a while. Does the gap count against me?

Less than you fear, and much less once you can say plainly what you're good at and what you did with the time. That's the work.

Can I justify this while I'm not earning?

Start with the three days. They are full access and cost nothing if you cancel inside them, which is enough to have the first real conversation and read what comes back. If it earns its place, monthly is $29 and stops the month you find something. If money is the thing standing in the way, email connect@siriusstuffinc.com and a person will look at it.

Start with one conversation.
